Holder of the Journey/Discussion
: Is it really supposed to be blank? Was it always this way? Is someone in the process of writing it? bluemage77 I think this one's supposed to be the final one or something. It certainly would be the most special one. So this could be a placeholder, to prevent it from being something stupid, like "THE HOLDER OF DER TIDDLYWINKLES HURR". (Hell, the broken lies guy might just write that one...) --Kiyrugoji : XD True. Let's hope the UnderHolder doesn't try to write it. He needs to work on his spelling, grammar... repetitiveness, and everything else. bluemage77 Uuuummm... The last one is 2538, The Holder of Legion, so this realy doesn't need to be here. Dancinswords : I have added the last Holder. A blank space didn't really suit me for a climactic ending to the series. If you want me to wait and post this when the other Objects are in place, let me know. You may edit it if you wish, but it seems fine for now. :This seems kind of. . . Anticlimatic? You know what I mean? Two things also bothered me, first, that it's expect to have all of the objects with you,(have and brought are two very different things) and knowing how you recieved every object seems ridiculous. Wouldn't having a blank page with "They must never come together." Be a better place holder than just a blank one? Arca : I agree. The ridiculous expectation of bringing all the Objects with you seems an almost impossible task when you consider the Objects range from dead babies to furniture to jewelry. My friend and I had an idea to write up a funny situation where a Seeker tries to get through airport security with her Objects.gordon I think this one is actually pretty good. It doesn't say you have to bring the objects with you, unless for example they're melded to your body. Since the Throne, for example, has to stay where it is, you don't have to have it on your person. Also, having several of the Objects together already won't be easily forgotten. A Seeker who manages to pull this one off would have to be...I don't know...bad? great? Another thing that occurred to me is that the tale that you have to tell the guardians of the Object has the sort of scope that a Holder's tale would include. ::That is a fantastic observation. --Sysop :/ I bring attention to this again, because I still don't like this one. The idea of having all of the Objects, and memorizing all of them, etc. Just ridiculous, even for The Holders. Also just run down and check out the Objects list, it's midly ridiculous to need all of them just for another Object. You shouldn't have to bring them all together in order to bring them all together. -Arca I'm also not too pleased with the ending of this one. More than anything else, it feels like a cheap way to add some sense of tension: "You want to bring them all together? Well, you've got to do it all again!" Also, for something that's intentionally supposed to be the last object, the parts of the trial involving the car and the receptionist seem rather arbitrary. I had an idea for a similarly-themed holder a while back, but didn't post it until now because it would kinda' close to this one. Feel free to take elements from that and splice it into here where necessary; I think some parts of my story should cover the weaknesses of this story fairly well. See it here. 129-210 (15:21, 27 November 2010) I don't know how you all will like it, but I revised this story. Feel free to return it to its previous state if you all don't feel it is a good end to the series, or if I broke some rule by editing this. I know this story has a rather divided fanbase, but I liked the previous (June 2010) version better. Considering the tortures and atrocities that have to be done to get to this point, recalling you journey in exact detail isn't all that much of a stretch. You kind of hinted at this in the 2012 update, but it seems like there's no real way for the seeker to fail (ie. forget something). I also really liked what the user up there said about the tail of your journey being on par with the tails the Holders tell. Had a nice ring to it. Thoughts? --NewGuy
