Hi,

I've read 1/2 dozen or so, and I appreciate the writing, the effort to create/ maintain this wiki, and the following The Holders has garnered. I guess I'm dense, so I'd appreciate your help on two questions that will help me to move forward and appreciate the Series:

1. Within the mythos, who writes these extraordinarily detailed blueprints for obtaining an object? For them to be so detailed, each one must have been solved, but only with a lot of trials resulting in death or insanity, so what one person could have journaled it?

2. The plots can have a cast of dozens (see Holder of Peace)... How is the stage reset each time for a Seeker, and why would all the players respond identically each time so that the written prophecy always plays out the same?

Thanks!

I've thought about both of those things, but I assume they're left unsaid because there is no obvious answer and/or it adds a sense of mystery. Perhaps some Object journals the memories of Seekers who are on the trail of another Object. Perhaps an outside force or character has the ability to watch Seekers without their knowledge, and then chronicles their trials and errors. Perhaps that outside presence is a group of beings who are tasked with making a complete library of those events. And maybe Objects return to their Holders by default when their Seekers die without intentionally doing something to destroy or lose them. Or, most likely, we're just never meant to know :P
