I have been interested in the Holders for a while now, and have been here visiting the site quite often since August 2015. The last activity from anyone was a post from March 8, and it is now April 10, 2017. It is rather unfortunate to me that Sysop had been gone for so long (since December 2013). I wish that the site had more people on it. I have tried editing once or twice and it never works (when I try to repost a story after a bit of editing it generally only returns with an "unknown action" error. I am very amazed by the authors who have invented such great stories about these Objects, and would be rather glad if the site became active like it was a few years ago.

With this said, is there anyone around who actually knows where Sysop has gone, and do you know why I may be having these errors in editing stories. If so, please reply.

Sysop disappeared in early 2012. We got hit by a bunch of spam bots in 2013. Sysop returned at the end of the year and reverted their edits, which inadvertently locked down the main website. He said he was making a bunch of improvements to the website, but he hasn't been heard from since December of 2013. A number of users have attempted to contact him without success.

Honestly, I think it's safe to say that Sysop is not coming back and that theholders.org is dead. If the Holders mythos has a future, it's not here. In somewhat happier news, all of the stories have been saved on the Wayback Machine, and creepypasta.org will publish stories about the Holders.

Thanks for the reply. Is there anyone around who knows why the editing won't work?

Welp, I'm still here, even though not that active as I used to be. And editing/adding isn't working for various reasons. They wanted to protect the site from bots and so they disabled that opportunity. Temporarily.

I'm personally not holding my breath on the main site getting unlocked. Its been four years and we haven't heard a word from Sysop. Anyways, good to see that you're still here.

Still, I hope our admin will come back. Eventually.
Anyways, we may post our stories on the forum, just as I plan to when I finish my translation of one of them. I wrote like... many.

I'll keep an eye out for your submissions to the forum; It'll be nice to read some new writing about the Holders. That reminds me, one of the Holders' Objects I wrote for the defunct second generation was published on creepypasta.com. It can be read here:

http://www.creepypasta.com/the-holder-of-democracy/

(It's rated 6.9 out of 10, mainly because it was row voted by people unfamiliar with the Holders)

And that's the story I really like to post there. There will be even pictures (a friend of mine liked it so much that she wanted to illustrate it), but it'll be... welp, in a while. Just like the translation. Buuuuuuut... maybe, some people who speak the same language as me will drop by? Hoffentlich.
Btw, I read your story. Rather interesting and original, never thought that democracy could be seen in that way. Aaaaaand... why didn't you post it here?

By the way, I almost forgot. I made a... so-called community where I put all of my Holders translations in order. Does anyone want me to share the link? I can even make a separate topic for it.

I spent several years working on "The Holder of Democracy". I actually did post the story here back in 2013, but I didn't post anything in 2016 since i didn't think anyone would actually see it. In the future, I'll make sure to post any further stories here.

Also, I'd be interested in reading your translated stories. I'd post the link in a separate topic.

Wow. Never thought someone could work so hard on a single story. I usually just forget about most of them after I edit them.

And I'll do that. As soon as I get to my computer. Welp, I always wanted my translations to be here, but, I beleive, I should hope no longer.
